There are two basic components for evaluating a lawyer:

First, how was the lawyer-client relationship? Did the lawyer carry on in an efficient and professional manner?  Did the lawyer answer all of the client's questions? Florida Quit Claim Deeds: Drafted, recorded and sent Florida Quit Claim deed to client for transfer of property in Sarasota County, Florida. (WhiR-Deed) 2015-01-15

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained a $15,000.00 settlement for damages plus attorney's fees and costs from the insurance company for water damages to a home as a result of a shower pan failure and a burst refrigerator water line.  As a result of these two water leaks, the kitchen cabinets, a wall in the kitchen, closets, and shower tiles were damaged.  This was a difficult case because of the overlapping claims and because of photos that showed very dark, stained and moldy baseboards which the insurance company claimed was evidence of non-covered long-term leaks.  Settlement was obtained as a result of a lawsuit after the insurance company denied the claim in its entirety.  Insurance company claimed that all of the damages were old, ongoing, and from long-term water leaks.  (Bar-C) 2015-01-13

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained a $32,500.00 settlement for damages plus attorney's fees and costs from the insurance company for water damages to a home as a result of a plumbing leak inside of a wall.  As a result fo the broken plumbing line, water damaged the wall and water flooded into the kitchen, dining room and living room of the home damaging the kitchen cabinets, furniture and personal property items.  Settlement was obtained as a result of a lawsuit after the insurance company denied the claim in its entirety.  Insurance company claimed the cause of loss was from a leak that was ongoing for 14 days or more.  (Per-C) 2014-10-01

 


Florida Landlord Tenant Claim: Recovered $1,250.00 of tenant's security deposit that landlord improperly refused to return at the end of the lease.  Recovery was the result of a lawsuit after the landlord refused to return any of the security deposit.  Landlord claimed the tentant did not move out in time; did not clean the property; did not return the property in the same condition; and caused damages.  (Ink-Vin) 2014-09-09

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $12,500.00 settlement for damages plus attorney's fees and costs from the insurance company for water damages to home as a result of a water supply line leak in the slab of the floor.  As a result of the water supply line leak, water leaked up between the connecting wall between the bathroom and dining room damaging the wall, the floor tile was broken to gain access to repair the water supply line, and a laminate wood floor became swollen and warped.  Settlement was obtained as a result of a lawsuit after the insurance company denied the claim in its entirety.  Insurance company claimed the damages were old, ongoing, and not the result of the water leak from the slab.  (WillD-PT) 2014-07-14

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $15,000.00 settlement for damages plus attorney's fees and costs from the insurance company for water damages to home as a result of a drain line collapse in the floor.  As a consequence of the drain line collapse, water from the dishwasher backed up through the kitchen sink spilling water all over the kitchen cabinets and floors.  Tile floor was broken to gain access to repair the drain line.  Settlement was obtained as a result of a lawsuit after insurance company denied the claim in its entirety.  Insurance company claimed there were absolutely no damages present in the home as a result of this water leak. Florida Subrogation Claim: Recovered money owed on a Florida final judgment for automobile damages caused by the driver at fault.  Recovery was the result of a lawsuit, a final judgment for damages and the suspension of the driver's license for the driver at fault.  (Clar-McG) 2014-06-02

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $13,000.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for damages as a result of a wind storm.  Damages included unpaid roof repairs and interior water damages from roof leak.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company denied the claim in its entirety.  The insurance company claimed there was no recent roof damage due to the storm or any interior water damages from the storm.  (DiaJ-C) 2014-03-23  

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $5,000.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for damages as a result of a broken water pipe in the home.  Damages included unpaid repairs for broken tile, and wet walls and baseboards in the home.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company denied the claim in its entirety.  The insurance company claimed there were absolutely no damages in the home as a result of the flood from the broken water pipe.  (LiV-F)  2014-03-11

 


Florida Contract Law: Reviewed a Florida shareholder's agreement and health provider services contract to advise a client as to a pending offer and purchase of a business.  Provided business client with legal options, rights, and revisions to the pending documentation.  (Bol-FHP) 2014-01-02

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $25,000.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for damages as a result of a broken pipe in client's home.  Damages included a hole in the terrazzo floor which could not be matched to access the broken pipe.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company only made a partial payment to the client.  Insurance company disputed the additional damages and claimed that the client failed to mitigate the loss.  (Mon-C)  2013-12-09  

 


Florida Insurance Claim:  Obtained $15,000.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for water damages as a result of a broken pipe in client's home.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company made a minimal and partial payment.  The insurance company took the position that the other claimed damages were excluded, unreasonable or not related to the claimed loss. Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $5,000.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for broken tile damages caused by a toolbox that fell from a ladder. Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company refused to pay anything on the claim. The insurance company denied the claim on the theory to wear, tear, marring and the argument that the damages did not take place as reported. (Del-AS)  2013-07-31

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $10,500.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for broken tile damages caused by the movement of a dishwasher for repair. Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company refused to pay anything for the tile damages. The insurance company denied the tile damage claim on the theory of wear, tear, marring and the claim that the chips did not devalue the rest of the continuous tile in the home. Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained a $6,000.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for water damages to a ceiling caused by a plumbing leak in an upstairs bathroom. Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company refused to pay anything on the claim. The insurance company denied the claim in its entirety on the theory that the stains were long term damages from a constant and repeated leak and due to improperly sealed joints in the bathtub. Florida Insurance claim: Obtained a $19,000.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for mold and water damages to home when air conditioning system malfunctioned and leaked water. Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company refused to pay anything even though the insurance policy specifically provided coverage for mold. The insurance company denied the claim on a theory that the damages were old, preexisting and not caused by the air conditioner leak. (Nav-F)  2013-07-25

 


Florida Insurance claim: Obtained a $32,500.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for water damages to home as a result of a broken water line in a wall that serviced a shower. Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company denied the claim in its entirety on basis of constant or repeated seepage or leakage. The insurance company claimed that the water leak had been ongoing for fourteen or more days. (BR-C)   2013-07-17

 


Florida Insurance claim: Obtained a $15,000.00 settlement plus attorney's fees and costs from insurance company for broken tile damages to home when client's child dropped a dumbbell on the floor. Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company refused to pay anything for the claim.  Insurance company denied the claim in its entirety on the basis of wear and tear and marring. (HJE-U)  2013-07-17

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $45,000.00 in damages plus attorney's fees and costs for water damages caused to a home when a pipe burst inside the slab of the floor.  Essentially the entire home was flooded with damages to the contents, baseboards and walls.  Insurance company made a small partial payment of $3,000.00 at the start of the claim but would not pay anymore.  The payment of the additional $45,000.00 was a result of the lawsuit we filed.  Insurance company disputed that any more monies were owed or that the claimed damages were the result of the flood.  (Ale-C) 2013-06-18.

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained a $25,000.00 settlement for damages plus attorney's fees and costs for broken tile damages in the home when a tool was dropped that broke the tile.  The tile was continuous throughout the home and could not be matched.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company denied the claim in its entirety.  The insurance company claimed that after its inspection, it could not attribute the tile from being broken by the tool as claimed by the homeowners.  (GonzRV-C) 2012-08-02

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $6,000.00 in damages plus attorney's fees and costs for water damages caused to dining room ceiling and furniture from bathroom leak above.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company denied the claim in its entirety. Insurance company refused to pay anything on the claim when it claimed that the water damages were long-term and the result of normal wear and tear.  (Abr-FP) 2012-07-17.

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $8,000.00 plus attorney's fees and costs for damages to kitchen tile when the homeowner dropped a hammer and broke the tile.  The insurance company denied the claim and refused to pay any monies under the theory that the homeowner waited too long to bring the claim and this prejudiced their ability to investigate the claim.  The settlement was the result of a lawsuit we filed.  (Bol-C)  2011-10-17.

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $7,250.00 plus attorney's fees and costs for damages to a condominium rental unit as a result of a plumbing leak from a neighboring apartment.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company refused to pay anything to client.  Insurance company denied the claim in its entirety on the alleged basis that its expert's report claims that all damages were ongoing, old and not the result of a one time sudden accidental release.  (GonN-FP) 2011-09-11

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $20,000.00 plus attorney's fees and costs for damages to home's kitchen as a result of a water leak behind the sink.  A hole had to be cut into the wall to gain access to repair the pipe. Kitchen cabinets and tile was damaged as a result of the water leak.  Settlement was the result ofa lawsuit after the insurance company denied the claim and failed to pay anything.  Insurance company denied the claim on the alleged basis that all damages were long-term in nature.  (GonzS-C) 2011-06-14

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $20,000.00 plus attorney's fees and costs for damages as the result of damages to the home's bathroom as a result of a water leak.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company failed to pay anything on the claim.  Insurance company denied the claim in its entirety on the alleged basis that there were no evident damages to the bathroom.  (DiaO-C) 2011-04-29

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $30,000.00 plus attorney's fees and costs for water damages as a result of a burst pipe in the home.  Settlement ws the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company refused to pay anything for the claim.  Insurer denied the claim in its entirety on the alleged basis that their ability to investigate the claim was prejudiced because the client began to make repairs to the flooded home.  (Jun-C)  2011-04-28

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $6,500.00 plus attorney's fees and costs for interior damaged caused by a racoon that poked holes in an air conditioning duct causing them to sweat and drop water onto the ceiling.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company refused to pay anything on the claim.  Insurance company denied the claim in its entirety on the alleged basis that there was no evidence that the racoon caused the damage.  (Cab-C)  2011-04-15 

 


Florida Insurance Claim: Obtained $6,200.00 plus attorney's fees and costs to repair damages to a kitchen as a result of a water leak inside the concrete slab.  Settlement was the result of a lawsuit after the insurance company refused to pay anything for the claim.  Insurance company settled the case within 2 months and prior to filing an answer in the Court.  (Bal-AS)  2011-04-03
